NSW To Consider Charter of Human Rights

Hot on the heels of last week's successful public meeting on human rights comes the welcome news, from NSW Attorney General Bob Debus, that a plan will be put to the NSW Cabinet suggesting the introduction of a Charter of Human Rights, similar to that introduced in Victoria.

This is a fantastic development, especially after the many pieces of oppressive legislation that have been handed down by governments recently. As Debus points out, human rights are the province not just of activists, but of everyone, and everyone stands to benefit when they are protected.
